My first example of the Windows 7 fan controller uses winring0 to gain access to the ec ports. In the meanwhile I've written a kernel driver to control the fan. The driver talks to a systray program. In the picture you can see the systray menu. I'm not a professional Linux or Windows or OS coder at all but most of the time I use Linux, so you can imagine that I've a hard time to learn all this tools in Windows and you need a lot of them to build a kernel driver and a systray application. Then I have to learn the Microsoft Windows Api and C/C++, and I'm not a C or C++ guy at all. But I'm glad it works, maybe it needs some polish. You alse need this program to enable the Windows 7 test mode and enforce a signature: www.ngohq.com/home.php.
