Here is a working example of my lighttpd config file for Typo3 4.5.5 + Fastcgi + Fam + Typo3 BE-Compression + mod_compress + Xcache + Lighttpd + low memory and aggressive tuning. Before I got my programs eats all my vserver ram (512M) now with Lighttpd instead of Apache and some tuning I have 25M free ram and Typo3 is running a magnitude faster. I also get rid of the <tt>"internal dummy connection" from the loopback device</tt> in my apache log files which is really anoying and can slow down apache a lot and the installation and the configuration of the lighttpd server is a lot easier. It took me some time to figure out the special rewrite rule for Typo3 and Typo3-BE-Compression.
